Simple Payments allows users to create at the same time embed credit and debit payment card buttons on WordPress.com and Jetpack-enabled websites with very few setup. The payment feature is available on Premium and Business plans on WordPress.com and Premium, and Professional plans on Jetpack sites which are running on version 5.2 and above.
To Get Started with Creating First Button
in order to add a simple Payment button, scroll to My Sites and just click on Pages → Add. Simple Payment button can also be added to the existing Posts or Pages through editing them at the Visual Editor.
In the toolbar, click the sign next to the ⊕ symbol, and then an option for adding Payment Button will appear.
If this is your first time of creating payment button you will see create new button form:
You can click on Add an Image or drag-drop an image onto the form for adding an image to your button. After adding the image, you will then see the image editing tools:
Click done button when ready to upload the image. Then you could make additional edits to the image after the image uploading finished by clicking the icon pencil. To change the image click the ✕sign on the top right of the present image and add a new one.
Fill the Name, Description along with Price for the items which you are selling. The currency can be set by clicking the currency button on the left side of Price input:
The toggle below the Price allows the multiples option. If the button is enabled, it will display an input field which lets users purchase more items at a time.
Captured payments by new button will be paid to email address added to the button. Double check email address once entered. Payments fulfilled through PayPal but don’t require any existing account in order to start receiving payments on your website. Email address which you have accessed will work for getting started.
When ready click on the Insert button. This will embed a new button into the Post or Page.
How to Update and Add Buttons
After you have completed your first button, Posts and Pages changes can be made.
For Simple Payments button update, scroll to My Sites then click on Pages → Add or through opening existing Post or Page in Visual Editor.
In toolbar, click the ⌄ sign next to the ⊕ symbol, and then the option to add a payment button. All list of buttons created can now be seen:
Add Buttons
An existing button can now be added to any Post or Page through selecting a button in the list then clicking at the Insert button:
Deleting Buttons
Buttons can be removed from the list of Simple Payments button. By clicking the ellipsis on the right side of button needed to be deleted:
By clicking the trash tab, all buttons will be removed from all Posts and Pages immediately. Then the Simple Payments button no longer would be displayed anywhere on the site.
Please take into consideration that WordPress.com pages which are cached to offer site visitors a very good web experience. Sometimes cached pages can display old content that means a deleted Simple Payments button might appear on a Post or Page. This should be happened for a few minutes only; however, at the same time to update a Post or Page would lead to removal of any deleted buttons from Post or Page immediately.
The button can also be removed from single Page or Post. By opening the Post or Page needed to be removed from the button at the Visual Editor. Click on the Simple Payment button you want to be removed.
